There is an embroidery called chikankari. It comes from Lucknow, India, and each stitch carries centuries of patience. More than thirty distinct techniques, each more delicate than the last. The black silk velvet dress we discovered was born from this craft — every flower, every leaf, embroidered by hand over more than a month.
We were immediately drawn to this singular beauty — the kind that Folkloore brings into the world.

In 2015, Mila Serena di Lapigio turned that desire into a singular platform: Folkloore. Her conviction: bringing together handmade excellence from every corner of the earth. Mila travels the world in search of those who still know how to create the old way. From the sacred mountains of Colombia to the wonders of southern Italy, from Morocco to Madagascar, Switzerland to Portugal, Italy to the United Kingdom….Traditions are celebrated, never appropriated.
A children’s vest is also among our favorites. It comes from the high plateaus of Argentina, woven in alpaca wool, dyed with the colors of the earth. It honors a weaving tradition far older than the Incas, passed down through generations of hands.
Behind every piece, there are faces, stories, knowledge that has traveled through time. These objects journey far to reach us. And when we wear them, we carry their stories with us.
Folkloore, célébration de l’excellence artisanale du monde entier

Un gilet pour enfant est aussi notre coup d’coeur, provenance de hauts plateaux argentins, en laine d’alpaga, teint avec les couleurs de la terre. Il perpétue un art du tissage bien plus ancien que les Incas, transmis par des générations de mains.
Derrière chaque pièce, il y a des visages, des histoires, des savoirs qui traversent le temps. Ces objets voyagent longtemps avant d’arriver jusqu’à nous. Et lorsque nous les portons, ce sont leurs histoires que nous emportons.
Folkloore的故事 当印度古老刺绣遇见阿根廷高原羊驼毛
有一种刺绣，每一针都带着时间的重量。它叫chikankari。来自印度勒克瑙，一座在莫卧儿帝国时期以精致艺术闻名的古城。这门技艺已经有数百年，甚至更久的历史。传说波斯来的皇后将它带入印度宫廷，也有人相信，早在公元前3世纪，希腊人就已经在印度薄纱上见过这样的花纹。
Chikankari的美，藏在它的针法里。超过三十种不同的针法，每一种都有自己的名字和性格。一件作品需要一个月甚至更长时间，才能在工匠手中完成。
这条黑色的丝绒连衣裙，便是这样诞生的。蓝色棉线勾勒的 floral 纹样，在深色丝绒上静静绽放。每一朵花，每一片叶，都由勒克瑙的工匠一针一线绣出。她们的手艺来自母亲，母亲的手艺来自祖母。这条裙子穿在身上时，你会觉得它不只是布料，而是一段被缝进去的时光。

Folkloore的创始人叫Mila Serena di Lapigio，曾在伦敦求学，在Vogue Italia工作，在YOOX做电商。但她真正的热爱，始终是旅行中遇见的那些物件——墨西哥的huipil上衣，印度的纱丽，母亲和祖母衣橱里那些手工编织的包。
“传统手作的物件，拥有鲜活的灵魂。”她说。
2015年她创立了Folkloore，与全球二十多个手工艺工坊合作。从摩洛哥到马达加斯加，从印度到瑞士，每一件作品都与手艺人共同创作。
在阿根廷的克夫拉达和普纳胡胡伊地区，高原的风吹了千年。那里的人们驯养羊驼，采集植物和矿物，用最古老的方式染色、纺线、织布。那件儿童背心，就是用这种100%羊驼毛手工织成，天然染出大地的颜色——深褐、蓝灰、赭石色。它致敬的是一种早于印加文明的编织传统，经由一双双仍然记得这门手艺的手，带到今天。
当你穿上Folkloore，你穿的不只是一件衣服。你穿的是勒克瑙工匠一个月的心血，是阿根廷高原上代代相传的织法，是一个世界公民走遍全球、把这些故事带回来的旅程。
